Discover the world of Joey Buttons
Joey Buttons is not your average yorkie.
With a tail that spins like a helicopter propeller, he finds himself flying into some wild predicaments!
In Joey Buttons and the Big Tree, this lovable pup wags his tail a little too hard while playing fetch with his human, Leo. Up he zooms until he’s stuck on the tippy-top of a big tree.
With Joey stranded above, Leo refuses to give up. Using creativity, determination, and a little help from his community, he sets out to bring his best friend back down to safety.
Perfect for bedtime and part of the Joey Buttons book series, this heartwarming story celebrates problem-solving, resilience, and the power of asking for help.

The tale
behind the tail.
One evening, Jess was bathing her then 2-year-old son, Leo, when he asked her to read him a book. She glanced down at her toy Yorkshire Terrier, Joey Buttons, who was wagging his tail in his signature circular motion.
Leo was already in the tub and there were no books around, so she drew inspiration from her four-legged friend and decided to make something up on the spot. As she began the tale inspired by Joey’s tail, Leo’s face lit up and he giggled with approval.
Jess quickly wrote down the story in the notes app on her iPhone, and after two years of revisiting the story and day-dreaming of turning it into an published book, she decided to turn her dream into a reality.
